Obama’s Declaration of War

March 22, 2010

When Barack Obama’s democratic minions passed the universal health care bill in the US Congress despite the

overwhelming opposition of the Americans, the Maoist/Marxist White House has just declared war on America and the freedom of its people.

More than two hundred years ago, the man who wrote the greatest document in mankind’s history and one of the great Founding Fathers of the United States- Thomas Jefferson- wrote: “To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”

But just like America, which is now being destroyed by the tyranny of majority of the liberal democrats in the US Congress, Jefferson was voted out of the list of figures whose writings inspired revolutions in the late 18th century and 19th century by the religious conservative educators in Texas. It is alarming that first free society on earth is being ruined by both the politically correct left-wing and right wing camps.

Indeed, David Horowitz, who was one of the founders of the New Left in the 1960s and an editor of its largest magazine,Ramparts, is right in saying that the Obama Care is a declaration of war. Being a former Leftist himself, Horowitz clearly understands that this universal health care bill was carefully designed to destroy liberty and freedom in America. This reminds me of what Ayn Rand wrote over three decades ago:

“One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary.”

Here’s what Horowitz said about the recently passed altruistic and anti-capitalistic Obama Care:

The President was right about one thing. The vote on Obamacare tonight was a historic one. The Democratic Party has in the course of the nine-month health care debate revealed itself to be an anti-democratic Party and an anti-liberty party. It is a party that has demonstrated its contempt for the Constitutional framework,  for the democratic process, and for the expressed will of the American people. Its brazen contempt for the compact that holds the diverse factions of this country together has initiated a political war at home that will extend not only into the next elections but into the next generations that will be encumbered with the trillions in debt and oppressive government controls that the socialist majority in Congress has demonstrated that it is intent on inflicting on this country. The people of this nation are still sovereign, and their voice will be heard. Tonight’s vote was lost but it is not the end of the battle. It is the beginning.
But the health care battle is far from over, as the Attorney General of Virginia plans to use the Federal government over the controversial health care reform. Here’s the news report:

NEW YORK, March 22 (Reuters) – Virginia’s attorney general said he plans to sue the federal government over the healthcare reform legislation, saying Congress lacks authority to force people to buy health insurance.

Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli, a Republican, said on Monday that Congress lacks authority under its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce to force people to buy insurance. He said the bill also conflicts with a state law that says Virginians cannot be required to buy insurance.

“If a person decides not to buy health insurance, that person by definition is not engaging in commerce,” Cuccinelli said in recorded comments. “If you are not engaging in commerce, how can the federal government regulate you?”

Cuccinelli said he plans to file his lawsuit in federal court in Richmond, Virginia, after President Barack Obama signs the bill into law, which he is expected to do.

The bill requires most Americans to have health coverage, and provides subsidies to help lower-income workers afford it. [ID:nLDE62L01U]

No Republican voted for the bill, which passed the House on Sunday night by a 219-212 vote.
